Car-Free Day: Paris takes a deep breath and the Eiffel Tower does too!

Paris takes a deep breath (“Paris Respire”) this Sunday, September 22nd, from 11 AM to 6 PM! The City of Paris is planning its 5th Car-Free Day. Motorized vehicles (including motorcycles) will be prohibited in the districts of downtown Paris, on the Champs-Elysées, in the neighbourhood of Montmartre, and other Parisian neighbourhoods. The rest of the capital will be held to a strict 30 km/h speed limit.

On the day, we recommend to our visitors to leave their vehicles in the parking lot, and to head to the 7th district via public or eco-friendly transportation.  

To visit the Eiffel Tower, you can get off at 3 different metro stations near the Tower: Bir Hakeim on line 6, Trocadéro on line 9, and Ecole Militaire on line 8. You can also access the monument via a RER C station as well as six bus lines.

The neighbourhood also offers Vélib (public bicycle) stations, and for the most adventurous among you, there is the Batobus, which stops at the Quai wharf right in front of the Tower.
