Summer 2020: construction on metro and RER lines

Thursday 2 July 2020

Modified the 17/06/22

Maintenance work will be carried out during the summer on the Paris metro and RER lines. Organize your Eiffel Tower visit around closed stations with replacement buses and alternate means of transport.

Service will be interrupted from July 15 to August 23 on metro line 6 and RER C. But here, we provide all the traffic information you need to keep in mind to map out a smooth journey during this period.

RER C line

From July 15 until the evening of August 22, no trains will circulate between Paris Austerlitz and Javel/Avenue Henri Martin.
In consequence, the Tower will not be accessible via the Champ-de-Mars Eiffel Tower stop.

The route of Metro line 10 as well as buses 30 and 63 is similar to that of the RER C, and these will be running throughout the construction period.

RATP Metro line 6

From July 25 to August 23, no trains will circulate between Charles de Gaulle-Etoile and Trocadero.
Metro line 6 (from Montparnasse) will continue to serve the Bir-Hakeim station, which is a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.

You can also take bus 30 from Charles de Gaulle-Etoile, which runs the same route as metro line 6 and is available all year round.

Follow real-time traffic info on metro 6, metro 8, metro 9, and RER C lines to ensure the best possible journey!

Tips for getting to the Tower during the construction period

To avoid the inconveniences of construction, take metro line 9 to the Trocadero station, or line 8 to Ecole Militaire for the best access to the Tower.

You can also reach the Tower by bus lines 42 or 82, by car, with ample parking in nearby lots, or, even better, enjoy the fine weather by biking to the Tower on one of the numerous bike trails!
